Enterprise data and the system processing this data are extremly sensitive and have to be protected against unauthorized use. To the outside, most networks today are protected like a medieval fortress. But what if an attack comes from the inside ? Firewalls, VPN-tunnels, proxies etc. then are useless - and the security team helpless.
But complex and heterogenous networks can be protected against unauthorized access from the inside: Availabe as a standalone product or tightly integrated into SPECTRUM and OneClick, DICOS Port Access Manager (PAM) enables you to detect unauthorized access, send alarms about this situation and even to lock out the intruder.
To achieve this, DICOS PAM is in close contact with the relevant network devices. This communication is based on SNMP standard MIBs and hence independent of vendors. Port usage is checked regularly against the internal database containing white-listed or black-listed MAC addresses. LinkUp/Down traps ensure an immediate reaction in case of an unauthorized access, by either alarming, or automatic locking of the port, or both.
Also, a history of port usage is available (Device Tracking) showing which MAC address was active when, how long and on which port.
Further informationen can be found in the datasheet (currently in German only; for PAM Standalone or integrated in CA SPECTRUM). We are more than happy to provide you with more information and/or a demo upon request !
