HOW DOES THE DICOS MCP SERVER FOR AUTOMIC Automation WORK?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a standard for connecting AI with external systems. It not only allows AI to exchange text with users, but also enables AI to perform actual actions in external systems.
MCP can be used to provide an AI with selected actions that it can use. The AI itself decides which actions are appropriate for which user prompts.
Elements involved:
Chat
Input of prompts by the user and output of the AI.
KI-Agent
Orchestrator between all elements, which also takes security aspects into account and enforces specifications. It uses the LLM for text analysis and to select the necessary actions. The actions selected by the LLM are then executed by the AI agent.
Language model
Large language models can be used as needed—from local LLM via Ollama to a public LLM provider such as ChatGPT. The language model analyzes user input and selects the MCP action to be executed.
MCP-Server
Provides actions that can be used by the AI. The actions give the AI access to external systems and allow it to perform actions in those external systems.
