DICOS is continuing its commitment to charitable causes this year. Every year, the company donates a sum to organisations that make a significant contribution to society. This year, DICOS has decided to support two organisations that provide urgent help in challenging times: the Initiative krebskranke Kinder München e.V. and Aktion Deutschland Hilft: Emergency Aid Sudan.
Help for children with cancer and their families
The Initiative krebskranke Kinder München e.V. has been supporting children with cancer and their families for over 40 years. The diagnosis of cancer places an emotional, psychological and financial burden on those affected. The initiative offers not only financial support, but also empathetic counselling and support to make everyday life easier for families.
A particular focus is on improving the conditions in paediatric clinics, promoting medical research and providing individual support to families who find themselves in an emergency situation as a result of their child’s illness. In addition to financial support, the initiative places particular emphasis on measures that give children with cancer and their families strength, confidence and quality of life during this stressful time. The organisation’s projects range from parents’ flats for overnight stays close to the hospital to creative activities such as art and music therapy.
Particularly impressive are initiatives such as the courage pearls, where each pearl on a necklace represents a special moment during therapy, or the clinic clowns, who bring a smile to the faces of young patients. Through programmes such as the mentoring project ‘The Schwabinger Stars’ or psychosocial support, families also receive long-term support to help them overcome the challenges during and after therapy. We are delighted to support this valuable work with our donation.

Support for the people of Sudan
The second donation goes to Aktion Deutschland Hilft e.V., which is organising life-saving measures for the victims of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Sudan with its emergency aid in Sudan. Aktion Deutschland Hilft is an alliance of more than 20 German aid organisations that are active in disaster relief worldwide. The member organisations have different areas of responsibility and long-term experience in humanitarian aid. Joining together to form an alliance makes it possible for aid to reach people very quickly and effectively in the event of major disasters. The co-operation reduces gaps in supply and overlaps.
Regardless of political, cultural or religious views, ‘Aktion Deutschland Hilft’ is involved in disasters such as famines, earthquakes, floods and armed conflicts. With our corporate donation, we want to give a sign of hope and confidence.
